Thank You, God

Today was the last day of school, and the last day of teaching sixth grade for me for a long, long, time.
I don't write much about my work. I have a fear that a parent of a child I teach will read my blog. You never know.
But I have to say it: this year was the hardest year I have EVER had in the classroom. I had a tough class, I am burnt to a crisp, and my life outside of school was so intensely busy, some days I thought I simply wouldn't make it through.
But I did.
It's done.
I wanted this school year to end even more than I wanted to stop running when I puked on the run at Mooseman. That's saying something.

Hello elementary library!
I made it.

Great Mooseman race report. Thanks. I don't consider it a successful race unless there was some type of body fluid unexpectedly released.

So.......Well Done!!!

Your school does go late, we have been done 3 weeks now.

I wish the "school" year was over for me. Have fun as a "media specialist". My mother was one for 25 years and I was not allowed to use the work Librian.

Congratulations! You did it! You must have that "1st day of summer vacation" feeling. In my experience (which only lasted till I was 22 years old), it only got sweeter each year. Is that true? No more pencils, no more books, no more pre-teens' dirty looks! Now you'll have all the time in the world to train to SMOKE all those other ladies.

Oh man, your year dragged on longer than ours even -- we had snow days galore and then had to, of course, make them up.

Happy you're moving on, Mary - I'll be picking your brains for good books for my readers now!
